Maintenance-free aluminium from the outside and beautiful natural wood from the inside

Is this an ideal combination for your windows?

While furnishing or renovating their apartment or family home, many people ask the following question: What are the best windows? We all agree that the ideal windows are those that insulate well, do not require re-painting and, at the same time, look good.

So, what are our options? What is actually available on the market in windows?

Basically, there have been three basic options for a long time: plastic windows, wooden windows or aluminium windows. Each of these types has its own drawbacks - plastic windows “age”
and look rather “artificial” from the inside. Wooden windows look very nice, but they need to be re-painted after some time (though at longer intervals than before). While aluminium windows are virtually maintenance-free, it is a well-known fact that their thermal insulating properties are inferior to the previously mentioned window types. In addition, the aluminium design may not be optimal for the character of the interior.
Given the advantages and disadvantages of the different types of windows described above, wood-aluminium windows seem like an ideal combination.

Taking into account the situation on the market in windows, wood combined with aluminium appears to be an interesting product.

It‘s simple – and hyphenation is the key in this case. It is a combination of both materials which has found unique application in the production of windows. The best features of both materials are taken advantage of. To name but a few, let us mention the maintenancefree character of aluminium and the beauty of natural wood; but, of course, thermal insulation properties also play an important role.
Thanks to this, wood-aluminium windows offer the maximum quality and utility value to those who choose them for their apartment or house.
From the inside we see wood – a window frame made from solid wood, which has a natural feel and will add beauty and cosiness to all interiors. From the outside, the window is protected by aluminium cladding in the colour of your choice (fully in line with the style of your house).

The aluminium cladding has increased the utility value of wooden windows

On the other hand, the wooden basis of the window frame provides excellent thermal insulating properties for these windows. An unquestionable advantage of wood-aluminium windows, as compared to wooden windows, is their “huge” durability.
These windows may feature insulating double glazing or even triple glazing.
The wood used for the inner face may be of many kinds, with different textures and colours. You may choose from among Czech woods, such as pine, larch or oak, or exotic woods, such as meranti and mahogany.
The outer aluminium cladding is available in several designs. From elegantly curved profiling to a modern square shape.
The inner profile of the sash in contact with the glass may be of the Live design – a chamfer of 5°, which is a standard feature in the case of wood-aluminium profiles, or Future design – straight. Traditionally, wood profiles are tenoned in the corners, which makes the windows extremely stable.
Aluminium can even be filled with insulation foam to have the wood-aluminium windows meet even the stringent standards for lowenergy and passive houses.
The aluminium is finished with the so-called “komaxit” (powder-baked colour), which further multiplies the durability of the material. It is also possible to use the premium feature offered by aluminium – corner joining – prior to the surface finish, i.e. weld it first and then apply the surface finish. Using this procedure, no joints are visible in the corners and the aluminium has an absolutely compact feel.

So, are wood-aluminium windows the windows of the future?

Yes, it is possible and highly probable. With regard to the market requirements, all of the benefits of wood-aluminium windows described here seem to suggest it.
Wood-aluminium windows may be used in virtually all types of buildings. All investors will appreciate their aesthetics, quality and durability.
One interesting point at the end – perhaps it will serve as an inspiration for you: since wood-aluminium windows have been on the market, they have found many applications in combination with modern sliding and folding walls.
In any case, we recommend that you consult with experts before you make a final decision about the right type of windows for your home or building. Surely we can agree on the fact that when you are pondering the type of windows to be used, you are dealing with something that will be greatly appreciated by the next generation. And not only for this reason, wood-aluminium windows appear to be the right choice.
